IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE!

This term room 15 is inquiring into the science of sound. Of late room 15 have been conducting various experiments and exploring important aspects related to sound.

Using balloons and our voices we explored what sound is and what sound needs in order to exist (source/medium/receiver) by feeling and hearing the vibrations that sound makes.

We painted our walls on day one of term 2 with our prior knowledge of the science related to sound.

We developed our understanding of how our ears work by creating plasticine models to represent the 3 regions of our inner ear.

Most recently we used a range of everyday objects such as rubber bands, string, cups, sponges and so forth to build upon our knowledge of how sounds are made and how to characterise sounds.
