BP Challenge
Recently members of the year 5/6 syndicate have started to prepare for the 2013 BP Challenge. This year Muritai School will compete in the Wellington BP Challenge as organisers have opted not to hold one in the Hutt region furthermore, this will also be the last BP Challenge.
Last week's challenge involved building a device to drop fragile medical supplies (an egg) to a group of people who are trapped down a steep cliff. The device needed to protect the egg by preventing it from not breaking. The only materials each group could use were a plastic bag, 1 metre piece of string, 3 A4 pieces of paper, a piece of A5 card, tape and a pair of scissors.

The challenge involved dropping their device from a 5 metre height so the Eastbourne playground proved to be the best place to test the devices.

Congratulations to Ella, Caylie, Georgia and Edie whose device, complete with shock absorbers, successfully protected their egg from breaking.
