SEARCHING THE INTERNET
Effectively searching the internet for information is a skill many of us need to refine.
Today room 11 spent some time searching for effective methods to help refine our internet searching abilities. At first we found a variety of methods and recorded those on post-it notes we then collated these methods into a list, here's what we found...
Using our newly acquired skills room 11 then set about researching future predictions on the internet. We first looked at an article on BBC Future about what might happen in 10, 50, 100 and 150 years from now. The list was complied according to predictions from scientists, thinkers and pundits, such predictions include;
MOST LIKELY
- 2017 Your computer has a sense of smell (1/1000)
- 2030 Many commercial flights take place without pilots (3/1)
- 2050 Wealthy people will be able to select elements of their offspring's genetic makeup (1/8)
LEAST LIKELY
- 2017 People can touch one another through their phones (100/1)
- 2024 You can upload the contents of your brain onto your computer (100/1)
- 2062 The first cloned humans have appeared (33/1)
