 FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Today room 11 began exploring their inquiry topic for term 4 'Food for thought'. We begun our first session by discussing 'What things help us to achieve in life?', some of our responses included...
  • Friends and family
  • Motivation
  • Physical activity
  • Food
  • Goal setting  

We then honed in on food and talked about 'What does eating healthy mean?', some of our responses were..
  • Eating a balanced diet
  • Making good choices about the types of food we eat
  • Eating food that gives you energy throughout the day
  • Eating food that puts you in a good mood
  • Eating healthy means that you won't die
  • Eating healthy helps you learn at school and helps you play sport
After that we watched a video clip about the differences in the amount and types of food that students eat before and at school, at a decile 1 and decile 10 school. Check out the video clip


 We finished our session by discussing 'What helps people to eat in a healthy way?', our responses included the following...
  • Good parents with a good education
  • Money to buy fruit and vegetables
  • Only buying the food you need from the supermarket
  • Making good choices when buying food
  • Getting into the habit of eating healthy
