Tibetan Lama Visit
On Friday June 8th room 11 welcomed Geshela Dhonam, a Tibetan Lama, and his interpreter, Celia Smith, to our classroom for a talk. Geshela visits Wellington several times a year.
To mark the occasion room 11 made some colourful prayer flags with symbols about caring for our world on them.
Geshela was very happy to be amongst so many children and he was keen to answer all their questions about life growing up in a very different culture. We saw some very interesting pictures of the landscape, animals and culture of Tibet.
When Geshela left we gifted him a set of the prayer flags we had made. He is going to put them up at his Dharma School in Auckland.
