TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE

On Tuesday room 15 were presented with the challenge of escaping Castle McMillan.

The story is that you and some friends are running out of Castle McMillan but once you get outside you noticed that one of friends has been left behind! Your friend is locked behind a door and you have the code to unlock the door. You try shouting out the code to them but they can't hear you so you look around and see a film canister, 3 metres of string, four rubber bands, 3 paper clips, some newsprint and a roll of sello tape lying on the ground.  

Using these items we had to build a throwing device that would launch the film cannister, with the code inside, over two desks and across a distance of 6 metres into a hula hoop where are friend was trapped inside. To complete the challenge we worked in teams and only had 10 minutes to build our device.

There were many good attempts at firing the cannisters but only one team successfully fired their cannister over the desks and into the hands of their team member. The challenge was lots of fun!
