Predictions for the Next 100 Years

This week for writing room 15 made predictions about what might happen in the next 100 years. We began by looking at an article published over 100 years ago that outlined predictions for the next 100 years from that point in time. Some of these predictions included 'Strawberries as large as Apples', 'There will be no C, X or Q in our everyday alphabet', and 'Photographs will be telegraphed'

The students then set about writing some of their own predictions.

Predictions for the next 100 Years
  1. Space Travel: You'll be able to get on a space craft that will take you to the other side of the world in one hour for the price of a plane ticket. Its already happening but it costs billions.
  2. AL (Artificial Life): There will be AL everywhere because scientists and computer scientists are already making the frame works of AL.
  3. CO2: All unnecessary CO2 will go in huge capsules and then we will only use solar energy, hydro energy and geo thermal energy. Global warming will be too much of an issue and the capsules will go to Mars.

  1. Solar-Powered Hover-Boards: I predict that in a hundred years people will go around on solar powered hover-boards, not cars. In the night they will use electric hover-boards. I think this will happen because car gas effects the ozone layer so the Government will change to hover-boards.
