NARRATIVE WRITING

This week room 11 have been creating narratives in the style of a prequel to the 'Three Little Pigs'. First we examined all the different versions of the famous tale and then discussed possible prequels that would link well with the tale.

Check out these prequels by Evie and Georgia.

The Christmas Pigs and the Santa Wolf
A Prequel to the Three little Pigs

“Jingle Bells Jingle Bells!” The three little pigs, Peter, PIper and Paul could hear singing outside their window. It was two days before Christmas and they were so excited. “Maybe  we should go caroling” suggested Piper Pig.
“No” protested Peter Pig who was very Professional “I must practice for the play.”
Every year at the pigs school they had a Christmas play and the pig’s were all desperate to get the part of Santa Claus but there was one problem, Wolfie. Wolfie was the new kid at their school and he was trying out for Santa Claus as well. People said that Wolfie was an excellent actor.
“Ok lets stay in then” agreed Piper

The Next day at the pig’s School it was buzzing with excitement, it was time for the auditions for the play. After they were finished everyone was talking about the Santa Claus auditions. Piper pig’s performance was average, Paul pig’s performance was good and Peter pig’s audition was very good. But the audition was definitely the best. The pigs didn’t think so.

The next day the cast for the play was on the notice board. Before the pigs had the chance to look the most popular and pretty girl in the school said to the pigs “you all elves and Wolfie got the part of Santa Claus”
“No!” said Peter
“It can’t be!” exclaimed Paul
“At least we got a part” said Piper camly
“Yes I got the part!!!” boasted Wolfie.
While all this was going on none of them noticed that the bell for the end of school had gone.

When the Pigs got home they were freezing. After they were warm and dry their Mother asked them if they got the part.
“No” said Paul sadly as a single tear squirted down Peters face.
“Its all right boys” said their Mother and gave them a big Piggy hug.

That day the pigs had to stay after school to practice. They jumped and danced and sang and pranced and acted. At the end they were exhausted.
“You were great” said Wolfie when they had finished.
“Thanks” smiled the Pigs. Things were looking up for them.

The 3 skinny pigs and the 1 fat wolf

Once upon a time there were three very fit, very skinny pigs. Steve with his extremely short haircut. Bob who had a mohawke and is so strong even his muscles have muscles. Last of all Tim who was a complete snob. They lived in the poshest neighbourhood in the city and were the attraction of all the pretty pigs in the neighbourhood. Everyday Tim would go to his gym made of straw, it was very exclusive and you had to be 40kg or under to enter. Bob had a bym made of sticks and it was $100 to enter. Steve’s gym was made of bricks and all the latest high tec equipment.

However there was one problem with the pigs’ gyms they had a no-wolf policy and there was a wolf in the neighbourhood who was very fat and wanted to get fit. His name was Lard.”Ah I hate those pigs” he moaned “They are the attraction of all the pretty girls.” But then Lard had a brainwave, he could sneak into the pigs gyms. So he puffed across the park and snuck down the alleyway between Tim and Bob’s gyms. However he was so puffed that he blew both the gyms down, so there was only Steve’s gym left. Sp he crawled over to Steve’s gym and said “Oh Steve oh Steve let me in, please teach me how to be thin””No” came the reply.

“Well it was worth a shot” said Lard “I’d better fix those gyms now”. So he sighed and trudged off to buy some bricks and cement. After he got the materials into a rusty wheelbarrow, he heaved it over to the pigs gyms and found the two pigs crying for their mummies.”Chill out pigs I’m going to fix your gyms for you”said Lard, very surprised to see such muscular pigs crying. Sighing heavily he got to work. After hours of carrying bricks and cement Lard finished the beautiful new gyms.
