'Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte'

POINTILLISM
This week room 11 have been exploring the painting technique known as pointillism. The technique relies on the ability of the eye and mind of the viewer to blend colour spots into a fuller range of tones.
'Circus Sideshow'
Room 11 first looked at the paintings of French artist Georges Seurat and how he applied paint dots of pure colour to a canvas. When these dots are placed close to each other they blur into an image.

The smaller the dots, the clearer the painting and the sharper the lines. With this in mind, room 11 set about creating their own piece of pointillist art to complement their piece of writing for the week.
