A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks in room 11 here is a snippet of the action that has gone down.
Persuasive Writing: Room 11 have continued to explore the use of persuasive writing in advertisements (static images). We've looked closely at the various language devices and techniques that advertisers use to advertise a particular food product.
These techniques and devices include...
- Coining a snappy slogan
- Including a description of benefits
- Intriguing questions
- Appealing to a particular audience
- Using strategies such as evidence, experts and emotive words to make people want to do something
With all this in mind room 11 set about creating a piece of persuasive writing, an advertisement, to persuade a group of people to do something by appeal to their mind or feelings.
Their challenge was to
support the 5 + A Day ‘Add an extra serving’ promotion you are required to
create a food advertisement (static image) that will persuade year 5 and 6
students to eat a particular type of fruit or vegetable.
Art: Room 11 have been interacting with their artwork recently. Check out these pictures of the student's hands mingling with the pictures they have drawn.
