MATHS TIME

Since the beginning of the term the room 11 maths team have been revising their addition and subtraction knowledge.

Dylan explained his understanding of how to solve addition problems using partitioning and tidy numbers to the class...

Milly and Beth chipped in by creating some word problems for the rest of the class to solve.

There were 79 people in one house and 28 in another house. How many people were there altogether?
70 + 20 = 90
9 + 8 = 17
90 + 17 = 117

They were kind enough to show us how to solve the first problem but left us to solve the second by ourselves, see if you can solve it.

Beth ate 64 grapes on Monday and Milly ate 73 grapes on Tuesday. How many grapes were eaten in total?
